Emcon commenced operations in 1992, shortly after Namibian Independence as Electrical & Mechanical consulting engineers. The group's staff and scope of work has grown organically to where the staff complement comprises over 30 specialists with diverse expertise and a wealth of experience.

Emcon has developed significant skill in the Namibian market, with a number of firsts: first rural electrification projects with the first implementation of pre-payment metering; first large-scale grid-connected wind turbine implementation; together with the application of energy efficiency and renewable energy to the built environment, culminating in developing skill in Green Building design and the first 6-star rated Greenstar building in Namibia

We walk the talk

Emcon is extremely proud to announce that we now officially occupy the "greenest" building in Namibia, as our Windhoek office has achieved a coveted 6-Star Green Star SA EBP rating. A 6-Star rating is the highest possible and is considered to signify “World Leadership” in the field. Emcon operates with energy produced from a grid-connected solar PV system, a small part of an internal process to register our offices to achieve the first Green Star (Existing Building) rating in Namibia.
